ASGADFW is all about fun, fellowship and fairways. During 2007, we averaged 115 members for the course of the year. Looking back, our ratio hovered around a 60/40% split of males to females, but that improved over 2007 to about a 55/45% ratio.

We're all about having fun!

When we play golf, we play for fun. Most of us are relaxed. We play at least once a month. And in the summer months, we even try to get a few nine-hole outings together in the evenings to add to our "sociability". Of course, every month as a member you have everyone else's contact info, so you can get up another round anytime you want. The calendar on this Web site will show you the outstanding courses we play.

Why ASGA?

On September 17, 2000, a charter was issued for the Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter of the ASGA (American Singles Golf Association, Inc.) In 2004, we were named South Region Chapter of the Year specifically celebrating our exciting membership growth, participation by our members in national events, our great out-of-town weekend getaways and our various social activities.

Like the other ASGA chapters, we are open to single golfers (at least 21 years of age, never-married, divorced or widowed). The Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter develops our own schedule of social and golf events, controls our own finances and elects our own leaders.

But being a member of the ASGA is better than just membership in a local chapter. Like each of the other 4,000 individual golfers in the chapters around the nation, members can also join together in great golf vacations, such as 300 singles converging on Pinehurst or the Bahamas. Being a member of ASGA also allows you to move your membership to another chapter if you move to another city (there is a chapter in the top 60 cities in the U.S.) Your monthly newsletter has both our local Chapter news and news about singles golf around the country.

Is Golf all There Is?

While most of us really, really, really like golf, we are also single. So we want to meet singles with similar interests. Some events may have more men and some more women, as events come and go. We realize it works best as 50/50, so we recruit to keep this balance. That also means when you go to play golf, the opposite sex is probably sitting beside you in your cart.

We volunteer for charity golf events, we share dinners and look for other social events where singles with similar interests will want to participate. We are likely to do whatever a member champions, so come to a meeting and bring your ideas. A calendar of planned events is listed on this Web site. (The space at the bottom is to add your events, so come suggest them.)

How do I join?

When you join, you are really joining the national ASGA, but with your membership there comes a membership in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Chapter.
